Lateral Commercial Litigation Attorney
Location: Macomb County, Michigan
A well-established Macomb County firm is seeking a lateral Litigation Attorney to join a growing commercial practice with work spanning Business and Real Estate, Estate Planning & Probate, Family Law, Government Law, and Litigation & Dispute Resolution. This is a strong fit for a litigator who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client contact, and a clear path to grow a practice within a stable, collegial firm.
The Opportunity
You will step into an active docket and immediately handle substantive work in state and federal courts. You will collaborate with experienced litigators while also having the autonomy to run your own cases, shape strategy, and deepen relationships with long-standing business and individual clients across Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commercial and civil litigation matters from intake through resolution, including trial preparation.
Conduct and oversee written and document discovery, including ESI where applicable.
Research and draft pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and other court filings.
Defend and take depositions; prepare clients and witnesses for testimony.
Appear at status conferences, case evaluations, mediations, and motion hearings in state and federal court.
Participate in settlement negotiations and help craft creative, business-minded resolutions.
What We’re Looking For
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
Lateral attorney with proven litigation experience in one or more of the following:
Business and Real Estate
Estate Planning & Probate disputes
Family Law litigation
Government Law
General Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Strong writing and oral advocacy skills, with comfort arguing motions and handling court appearances.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to responsive, high-level client service.
Familiarity with Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County courts and local practice.
