Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Patent Paralegal to join our legal team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patent law and will be responsible for supporting patent attorneys in all aspects of patent prosecution and litigation.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist in preparing and filing patent applications and related documents. - Conduct patent searches and analyze results for patentability and infringement. - Manage patent docket and ensure timely responses to office actions and deadlines. - Coordinate with foreign associates for international patent filings and prosecution. - Maintain accurate and organized records of patent portfolios. - Prepare and review legal correspondence and documentation related to patent matters. - Provide litigation support, including document review and preparation for patent disputes. - Communicate with clients regarding patent prosecution status and requirements.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field. - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Patent Paralegal or in a similar role. - Strong knowledge of patent law and USPTO procedures. - Proficiency in patent docketing software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Excellent organizational and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with foreign patent prosecution. - Familiarity with patent litigation processes. - Certified Paralegal (CP) or equivalent certification.
