We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Union Commercial Painting Estimator/Project Manager to join our team and oversee the bidding, selling, winning, and financial management of projects from start to finish.
Estimator/Project Manager Job Description: As a Union Commercial Painting Estimator/Project Manager, you will play a key role in the 'hitting a home run' with our clients by accurately estimating project costs using On-Screen takeoff and Quick-bid, selling these bids to clients, winning the projects, and effectively managing the financial aspects of projects from initiation to completion. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Estimator/Project Manager Responsibilities:
Review project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
Conduct quantity takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff and QuickBid software to estimate material and labor costs accurately.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs, for both new construction and repaint projects.
Develop competitive bid proposals and present them to clients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Collaborate with project teams to develop bid strategies and pricing proposals that meet project objectives and client expectations.
Manage the bidding process, including soliciting subcontractor bids and negotiating pricing and terms as needed.
Oversee the financial management of projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting.
Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying and addressing issues to ensure projects remain on track and within budget.
Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, including subcontractors and field staff, to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
Estimator/Project Manager Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial painting estimating and project management.
Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff and QuickBid software.
Experience bidding on and managing both new construction and repaint projects for commercial buildings.
Strong understanding of painting techniques, materials, and equipment used in commercial painting projects.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating and financial management.
Knowledge of union regulations, labor laws, and safety regulations related to commercial painting projects.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites and meetings as needed.
