Car Mechanic – Private Vehicle Collection & Company Fleet

Location: St. Pete, FL
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 annually
Type: Direct Placement


About the Position

A private organization is seeking a highly skilled Car Mechanic to maintain and preserve a private collection of classic cars, restomods, and high-performance vehicles, as well as service the company’s fleet vehicles. This role requires expertise in both vintage and modern automotive systems, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage diverse maintenance needs across unique vehicle types.


Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on restomods, classic vehicles, modern high-performance cars, and company fleet vehicles

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic issues to ensure reliability and top performance

  • Conduct routine inspections and servicing for sedans, vans, or light-duty fleet trucks

  • Ensure all fleet vehicles meet safety and performance standards for daily operations

  • Prepare private collection vehicles for events, shows, or driving occasions, ensuring pristine condition

  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe workshop suitable for vintage and modern automotive projects

  • Collaborate with the collection manager or owner to schedule and prioritize maintenance, customizations, and restoration work


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or trade school certification preferred

  • ASE Certification or equivalent is a plus

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an automotive mechanic, including hands-on work with classic cars, restomods, and/or high-performance vehicles

  • Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems

  • Ability to multitask and manage varying types of vehicle maintenance

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform precision mechanical tasks

  • Valid driver’s license required; experience with manual transmission and high-performance vehicles strongly preferred

  • High level of professionalism and discretion, especially when working with private collections
