Wastewater Treatment Operator – 1st & 2nd Shift - Entry Level

Location: Dade City, FL
Pay: $16–$18 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1St Shift: 5:00AM – 3:00PM 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–12:00 AM
Training: 1st shift (5:00 AM–3:00 PM) during the first week

Our client is a leading beverage materials recovery and recycling facility (MRF) committed to responsible recycling and sustainable waste management. As operations continue to expand, we are seeking dependable, safety-focused individuals to join the 2nd shift team.

Position Overview

The Wastewater Treatment Operator plays a key role in supporting our recycling operations by operating, monitoring, and maintaining wastewater treatment systems to ensure environmental compliance. This position involves conducting water quality tests, maintaining proper pH levels, managing holding tank transfers, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of all related equipment.

Your work will directly support our mission of sustainability, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems to ensure performance meets regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and test water samples using a pH meter; adjust treatment processes as needed.
  • Monitor and regulate wastewater storage tank levels.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on treatment equipment.
  • Analyze water quality data and document results accurately.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Adhere to company procedures for material handling and storage.
  • Work effectively in environments with airborne dust, dirt particles, and fluctuating temperatures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to water quality and treatment processes.
  • Basic math skills required for treatment calculations.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience working with chemicals or processed materials preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in conditions with dust and temperature changes.
  • Must wear employer-provided PPE and supply your own knee-high, steel-toed rubber boots.
  • Must maintain alertness, sound judgment, and quick reflexes.
  • Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
