A large, privately owned corporate campus is seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Building Engineer to join its Property & Facilities team. This role helps oversee operations in a Class A office environment and plays a key part in maintaining building systems, supporting the HVAC team, and ensuring a high-quality facility experience.

Support the HVAC team with expert knowledge of building HVAC systems, including VRF/VRV technology and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Oversee and perform preventive maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and other building systems.
Manage and track work orders, vendor bids, and maintenance proposals.
Respond to building emergencies, occasionally requiring after-hours or weekend availability.
Monitor building performance and ensure all systems operate efficiently and safely.
Work closely with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless facility operations.
Utilize digital platforms, apps, and tools for work order and project management.
Support campus-wide maintenance initiatives and uphold Class A property standards.
Trade school, vocational training, or degree in HVAC, engineering technology, facilities management, or a related field.
Advanced expertise in HVAC systems; strong VRF/VRV system experience required.
Experience with BMS controls (any platform).
Prior experience in a commercial property environment—preferably Class A office, hospitality, healthcare, or large private facilities.
Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs and multi-system building operations.
Ability to review vendor bids, proposals, and work order documentation.
Technically savvy; comfortable using apps and digital tools for maintenance management.
Excellent communication skills with a team-oriented, no-ego, collaborative attitude.
A building systems expert (not a general handyman).
