Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 per year (based on experience)
Our client is a leading provider in the recycling and materials recovery industry, operating multiple facilities across the U.S. The company’s mission is to keep valuable materials in circulation and reduce environmental impact through safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.
The Plant Supervisor will oversee daily operations at a recycling and materials processing facility. This position is responsible for leading a team of operators and technicians to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant processing of materials. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and has experience driving production performance, safety, and quality standards.
Supervise and direct plant staff, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and conducting performance evaluations.
Manage daily recycling operations — including sorting, baling, and quality control of materials such as metals, plastics, paper, and organics.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, and local standards).
Troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate maintenance and repairs, and oversee preventive maintenance programs.
Maintain accurate production records, monitor KPIs, and prepare daily/weekly performance reports.
Manage inventory of raw materials and finished recyclables; coordinate inbound and outbound logistics.
Train team members on safe operating procedures and emergency response protocols.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
5+ years of experience in manufacturing, waste management, construction, or recycling operations.
1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
Proficiency with forklifts, skid steers, cranes/excavators, or similar industrial equipment.
Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and workplace software for reporting, inventory, and scheduling.
OSHA safety training or willingness to obtain certification.
Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.
Proven leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Industrial facility environment with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Ability to stand, walk, climb, or stoop for extended periods.
Regular lifting up to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.
Frequent exposure to noise, vibration, and moving machinery.
