Position: Risk Manager

Summary:
Our Company is seeking a Risk Manager to join its growing Legal team. This role is critical in managing the company’s insurance programs, negotiating policies, conducting risk assessments, and developing strategies to minimize construction-related risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance, risk management, and construction-specific coverage, with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase and negotiate construction insurance policies (general liability, builder’s risk, professional liability, etc.).

Manage policy renewals to ensure continuous coverage and competitive premium costs.

Conduct risk assessments for property damage, equipment loss, workplace injuries, and third-party liabilities.

Develop comprehensive construction risk management strategies.

Build and maintain relationships with construction insurance underwriters.

Collaborate with the safety program to implement risk controls and reduce accidents.

Manage consolidated insurance programs and negotiate favorable premiums.

Oversee insurance claims process, including reporting, tracking, and negotiations.

Work with outside counsel and carriers on insurance-covered litigation.

Analyze claims data to improve claims management and reduce costs.

Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.

7+ years of experience in insurance and risk management (construction experience strongly preferred).

Strong negotiation skills and deep knowledge of construction-specific insurance policies.

Proven ability to assess and mitigate risks in construction settings.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
