Lead Payroll Administrator
Location: Land O’ Lakes, FL (On-site)

JMI Resource is seeking a Lead Payroll Administrator to oversee all aspects of payroll processing and serve as the primary contact with our payroll provider, Paycor. This role ensures payroll systems function smoothly and accurately while supporting the development of efficient policies and procedures that comply with federal and state regulations.

Core Technical Skills (Must-Haves)

  • Payroll Systems Knowledge: minimum 5 years’ experience with Paycor or similar large payroll platforms.
  • Payroll Operations Expertise: In-depth understanding of payroll laws, tax forms (W-2, 1099), deductions, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Skilled in handling unemployment claims, child support enforcement, verifications, and court-ordered deductions.
  • Year-End Processing: Ability to supervise and coordinate year-end payroll, including supplemental payrolls and tax reporting.
  • Background & Drug Screening: Familiar with understanding of background and drug testing procedures, legal requirements, scheduling, coordination, and tracking screenings, resolving issues as needed.
  • Data Management & Accuracy: Maintain payroll records, manage audits, and produce accurate reports.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Strong in Excel, Word, and Outlook for reporting, data analysis, and communication.

Analytical & Organizational Skills

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in payroll for 100+ employees weekly.
  • Analytical Mindset: Evaluate payroll processes and recommend improvements.
  • Deadline Management: Ability to meet strict daily/weekly payroll deadlines.
  • Multi-tasking & Prioritization: Balance payroll, compliance, verifications, and employee onboarding support.
  • Organizational Strength: Strong ability to structure, track, and maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and workflows.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of payroll work experience with Paycor or a similar large payroll system/vendor.
  • Education: Associate degree and/or equivalent payroll work experience.
