Sheet Metal / Manual Lathe Operator
Location: Tarpon Springs, FL
Pay Rate: $18.00–$20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM (overtime as needed)

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes to machine metal parts to specification

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders

• Perform sheet-metal tasks, including cutting, bending, and forming components

• Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges; verify tolerances

• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tooling

• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs

• Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to all safety protocols

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ hands-on experience operating manual lathes and/or sheet-metal fabrication

• Ability to read and follow blueprints and detailed work instructions

• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)

• Strong mechanical aptitude; comfortable making minor machine adjustments

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing parts within tight tolerances

• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment

• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Prior sheet-metal fabrication experience in any industry

Assessment

Candidates will complete a brief aptitude test covering micro-measurement techniques and proper use of calipers and micrometers.
