Grounds Maintenance Technician (Landscape Specialist)
Position: Full-Time, Temporary/ Contract 4 months ($17.50/hr.)

Under the direction of the Landscaping Manager, the Grounds Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of horticultural and grounds-keeping duties to ensure our property remains attractive, safe, and healthy year-round.
Turf & Hardscape Care
Mow, edge, trim, aerate, and fertilize lawns according to seasonal schedules.
Blow sidewalks, pathways, and parking areas; remove debris, leaves, and litter.
Plant & Bed Maintenance
Plant, prune, and deadhead flowers, shrubs, and trees.
Install and replenish mulch, decorative rock, and landscape fabric.
Monitor plant health; identify pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
Irrigation & Water Management
Inspect, adjust, and repair automatic irrigation systems (heads, valves, controllers).
Perform seasonal system start-ups, winterization, and leak detection.
Seasonal Projects & Installations
Assist with seasonal flower installations, holiday décor, and special landscaping projects.
Support landscape upgrades and hardscape installations as directed.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Safely operate zero-turn mowers, string trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and skid steers.
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment; report major repairs.
Work Order Management
Complete daily work orders and document tasks in the maintenance tracking system.
Communicate material needs or property issues to the Landscaping Manager.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all OSHA and company safety policies; wear required PPE.
Maintain a neat, hazard-free worksite at all times.
Horticultural Skills: 1-2 years’ experience in commercial or large-scale landscaping.
Plant Knowledge: Familiarity with common turf grasses, annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees.
Irrigation Systems: Basic troubleshooting and repair experience.
Equipment Proficiency: Comfortable operating mowers, trimmers, blowers, and light construction equipment.
Physical Fitness: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in variable weather, and perform repetitive tasks.
Work Ethic: Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Communication: Clear, professional interactions with coworkers, vendors, and visitors.
Landscape bed design and installation
Pest and disease identification/treatment
Soil testing and amendment recommendations
Certification in horticulture or landscape management
