Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced TIG (GTAW) Welder for a temp-to-permanent opportunity in Tampa, FL. This role is ideal for a professional welder with a strong background in purged stainless steel pipe welding and working knowledge of ASME welding codes. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship, precision, and a consistent focus on safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on purged stainless steel piping in accordance with ASME code requirements.

• Set up, calibrate, and operate welding equipment, ensuring proper purging and gas flow techniques are used.

• Interpret and work from detailed blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).

• Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on completed welds to verify structural integrity and code compliance.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.

• Collaborate effectively with fabrication teams to meet production schedules and project deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on TIG welding experience with stainless steel pipe, including purge welding.

• Solid understanding and practical experience with ASME Section IX welding codes and procedures.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and WPS documents.

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, defect-free welds.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Must successfully pass a welding proficiency test and a pre-employment background screening.
