CNC Programmer (3, 5 or 9 Axis)

Location: Odessa, Florida
Compensation: $30–40/hr — Pay DOE (Dependent on Experience)


Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to support programming and machining operations across a range of multi-axis equipment. This role focuses on practical programming ability, fixture development, and real-world problem solving rather than highly specialized niche platform experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience programming 3, 5, or 9 axis machines, working with common CAM platforms, and collaborating with machinists and engineering staff to produce accurate and efficient manufacturing processes.

Candidates will be asked to complete a programming and problem-solving assessment as part of the hiring process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis machining (3, 5, or 9 axis)

  • Create and refine toolpaths using CAM software

  • Support setup and machining operations including lathes and milling equipment

  • Design and build fixtures to support efficient and repeatable production

  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues

  • Collaborate with shop personnel to improve cycle time, quality, and throughput

  • Verify program accuracy and support prove-out on machines

  • Document processes, setups, and program revisions

  • Provide examples of prior programming work (photos, parts, or portfolio where available)


Equipment / Technology Environment

  • CNC machines with Fanuc controls

  • EDM machine on site

  • Lathe and milling operations


Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience programming CNC machines (3-axis minimum; 5 or 9 axis preferred)

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following software platforms:

    • CamWorks

    • PartMaker

    • Fusion 360

  • Strong fixture design and fabrication capability

  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Understanding of machining processes and tool selection

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Practical shop-floor collaboration mindset


Hiring Requirements

  • Level 2 background check required

  • Drug test required

  • Programming/technical assessment required during evaluation


Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience with EDM processes

  • Multi-axis complex part programming

  • Demonstrated project or part portfolio (photos/examples)
