Job Description
A leader in the workplace, education, healthcare, and hospitality furniture industry is seeking a motivated Customer Service Representative for our West Chicago, IL distribution center. This role is essential to maintaining our high standards of client satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring all inquiries are handled promptly. The successful candidate will become familiar with the company's goals and objectives and work proactively to meet and exceed client expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to all questions, calls, and emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop in-depth product knowledge and become proficient in using the electronic catalog and AS400 programs.
- Compose clear, concise communications via email and fax.
- Assist with customer service inquiries from dealers, sales reps, and co-workers.
- Check order status, inventory, product information, and pricing.
- Process credits, return authorizations, and back charges for plants/dealers.
- Manage changes or cancellations on orders, and track shipments.
- Follow department and company guidelines to ensure consistent service quality.
- Review all customer purchase orders for accuracy in product and pricing.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong problem-solving ability.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on placing purchase orders accurately and addressing related inquiries effectively.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities to meet deadlines and evolving goals.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, or military background.
