Job Description

Utah Return to Work Program

Returning to the workforce—or entering it for the first time—can feel overwhelming, especially as workplace technology continues to evolve. The Utah Return to Work Program provides neurodivergent individuals with a supportive, structured environment to build practical skills and prepare for today’s workplace.

What You’ll Gain

Over the course of the program, participants will:

  • Build practical artificial intelligence (AI) and workplace technology skills that can be applied across a variety of roles and industries.
  • Strengthen professional skills, including communication, teamwork, time management, workplace professionalism, and self-advocacy.
  • Develop career readiness through resume development, job search preparation, and communicating skills and experience to employers.
  • Receive individualized career support and 1:1 coaching focused on goals, workplace readiness, and the transition into employment.
  • Earn a Certificate of Completion: Participants who successfully complete all program requirements will receive a Utah Return to Work Program Certificate of Completion recognizing their training in workplace technology and AI, career readiness, and professional skills. Participants can add the certificate to their resume and LinkedIn profile to highlight their professional development and newly developed skills to potential employers.

Program Format

The program is completed virtually over six weeks, with participants committing approximately 15–20 hours per week through a combination of facilitated sessions, self-directed learning, career readiness activities, and individualized coaching.

Technology training focuses primarily on AI and its practical use in the workplace, along with other general workplace technology skills. The goal is to build practical, transferable skills that are relevant across many roles and industries rather than prepare participants for one specific occupation or career field.

The cohort will begin January 2027.

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be based in Utah and be available for the full duration of the program.
  • Be entering or reentering the workforce. For example, this may include recent college graduates or individuals returning to work after an employment gap of six months or more due to caregiving, health, or other life circumstances.
  • Identify as having a neurodivergent profile or another barrier to employment that may benefit from additional career and workplace support.
  • Commit to attending and completing all training program sessions.
  • Adhere to professional conduct and workplace expectations throughout the program.
  • Have access to a computer with a reliable internet connection, camera, and microphone.

Applications will be processed on a rolling basis.
