Job Description

On behalf of our client, Innovative Outsourcing is seeking an experienced and dedicated Estimator to join a well-established heavy civil and sitework contracting firm in North GA.

This is a full-time, onsite position for a professional who thrives in a "work hard, play hard" culture and values a family-oriented, integrity-driven environment.

Role Overview

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including mass earthwork, underground utilities, paving, and site preparation. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between digital takeoff and real-world field operations, ensuring our bids are both competitive and profitable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Takeoffs: Perform accurate 3D earthwork takeoffs (cut/fill, subgrade, stripping) and utility takeoffs using software such as AGTEK, Trimble Business Center, or InSite.
  • Bid Preparation: Build complete estimates from first principles, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor quotes.
  • Plan Analysis: Thoroughly review RFC (Request for Construction) drawings, geotechnical reports, and specifications to identify potential risks or value-engineering opportunities.
  • Vendor Management: Solicit and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring the scope of work is fully covered without overlap.
  • Site Visits: Attend pre-bid meetings and visit project sites to assess soil conditions, access constraints, and existing topography.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Management team during the "hand-off" phase to ensure a smooth transition from bid to construction.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Industry Experience: A background in heavy/civil or sitework contracting is essential.
  • Software Proficiency: * AGTEK: Expert-level, daily use of AGTEK is an absolute requirement.
    • Microsoft Office: Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Preferred Tools: Experience with Bluebeam and HeavyBid is a significant plus.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to question discrepancies in numbers and identify potential solutions for plan inconsistencies.
  • Core Traits: A "get the job done" work ethic, high accountability, and the ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Mandatory Hiring Requirements: This position requires the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Work Location: The position is 100% onsite.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per year (depending on experience).
  • Performance Bonus: Annual incentive pay based on company performance.
  • Relocation Assistance
  • Unique Perks:
    • 100% Employer-Paid Health Insurance for the employee.
    • Full Company Shutdown: Enjoy a week-long break between Christmas and New Year’s to spend time with family.
    • Professional Development: Ownership is committed to facilitating ongoing training, classes, and conferences.
    • Culture: A faith-based environment that hosts annual family cookouts, Christmas lunches, and leadership retreats.
