Senior Client Accountant (Controllership Track)
Location: Remote (Southeast-Based Client, EST Time Zone ONLY)
Salary: $75,000–$80,000 + Quarterly Bonus
Our client, a respected and established virtual accounting firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Client Accountant to join their growing team. This is a crucial new role designed for an accounting professional ready to step into a high-level review and advisory position with a clear track to Controllership services in the near future.

This role is ideal for candidates from a small-to-medium-sized accounting firm background who have successfully managed multiple clients.
The Role and Responsibilities
This full-time position acts as a specialist for client accounts, primarily focused on quality assurance, advisory, and client relationships.
- Financial Review (Quality Control): Serve as the second level of review for client financial reports before they are sent out. The successful candidate will oversee the financials for approximately 30–40 clients.
- Client Advisory Services: Provide strategic insights and advisory skills, including looking at reports to identify trends. Participate in monthly meetings for Silver and Gold level advisory offerings.
- Client Relationship Management: Initiate client "touch points" to check on account satisfaction and the performance of the day-to-day account manager.
- Operational Support: Be prepared to step into the account manager's role, as needed, which may include running payroll, processing bills, or reporting.
- Controllership Development: This position is being hired with the intent to assist in developing and rolling out new controllership offerings.
Qualifications
- Experience: Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of multi-client accounting experience at an Accounting/Advisory Firm
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is highly preferred.
- Professional Attributes: Must be professional, well-polished and well-spoken. Key qualities include attention to detail and the ability to coach others.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required.
- Location: Must reside within the Eastern (EST).
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $75,000–$80,000 + benefits
- Bonus: Participation in a quarterly bonus program based on weighted factors estimated between $2,000–$2,500.
- Work Environment: Fully virtual, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST.
