Our client, a woman-owned commercial HVAC contracting company located in Smyrna, is looking for an Accounting Supervisor with Construction Experience to join their growing team. This position will be worked fully onsite at their office in Smyrna and the work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7am – 4pm.

This position will report to the Controller of the company and she is looking for someone who learns quickly, communicates early and often, doesn’t need a lot of direction, and is a go-getter. The candidate selected will also need to take the test to become a notary. This will be paid for by the company. And a Drug Screen is part of the onboarding process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and train accounting staff, including delegating tasks, reviewing work, and providing performance feedback
Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management
Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant accounting standards and regulations
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective cross-functional processes
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role; Construction experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software and
advanced Excel skills Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
COMPENSATION:
$85,000 - 95,000 base salary commensurate with experience plus annual discretionary bonus
