Job Description
Our client, Planners & Engineers Collaborative, located in Peachtree Corners, is adding a dedicated Accounting Manager to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to lead and grow with a company that truly invests in its people.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on manager who can be “in the weeds” with day-to-day accounting operations, supervises a small team of two, and requires a strong balance of technical accounting expertise and business acumen.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the accounting department, ensuring effective structure, processes, and performance.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and vendor contracts. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank statements to the general ledger. Ensure the timely monthly close of financial statements. Prepare audit schedules and complete other projects assigned.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards, tax regulations, and all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and operating metrics.
- Partner with leadership to establish financial benchmarks, monitor variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures across all programs and entities.
- Manage financial reporting for multiple business entities, including project and property accounting.
- Collaborate with external CPA on tax return preparation and R&D credit processing.
- Provide financial guidance on contracts, risk management, and corporate renewals.
- Work closely with HR on payroll, benefits, and compliance; serve as payroll backup as needed.
- Partner with IT and leadership to safeguard accounting platforms and ERP systems, overseeing cybersecurity and financial risk management.
- Train and mentor team members, promoting awareness of compliance, internal controls, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 1 year in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of finance law, GAAP, and regulatory standards.
- General knowledge of corporate tax laws and depreciation methods.
- Year-end close and tax preparation experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (QuickBooks; Deltek or other ERP experience preferred).
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary range of $115,000–$125,000, plus performance-based bonus opportunities. PTO, comprehensive health benefits, and strong potential for career growth.
