Job Description
Tax/Accounting Manager
Marietta, GA – Hybrid
Are you a Senior Tax Accountant or Tax Manager who’s thrived in a smaller CPA firm setting and ready to take the next step in your career? Do you enjoy working closely with clients, having a voice in decisions, and making a real impact instead of being “just another number” at a large corporate firm?
Our client, Kirschner & Company, LLC, is a well-established accounting, tax, and consulting firm with more than 30 years serving metro Atlanta. They’re looking for a Tax/Accounting Manager who wants the best of both worlds: the stability of a long-standing firm and the growth opportunities of a practice that values fresh ideas, autonomy, and leadership.
Why This Firm?
If you’ve worked at a smaller CPA firm, you already know the benefits: closer client relationships, variety in the work, and the ability to wear multiple hats. Kirschner takes that a step further by offering:
- True Work-Life Balance - reasonable tax season hours and flexibility.
- Direct Client Impact - work face-to-face with privately held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and owners who value your insight.
- Growth Potential -including a partner track and the chance to build your own book of business, with compensation tied to your success.
- Supportive Culture - a collaborative, team-first environment where respect, accountability, and community involvement matter.
- Professional Development - in-house CPE, structured goal-setting, and a firm that invests in your growth.
What You’ll Do
This is a role where you’ll balance being hands-on with guiding and developing others.
- Lead tax, accounting, and audit engagements for small businesses and high-net-worth clients.
- Prepare and review complex returns (corporate, partnership, trust, estate, and individual).
- Manage workflow and staff assignments, while training and mentoring team members.
- Conduct tax planning and research for a variety of industries (construction background a plus).
- Build trusted client relationships through proactive communication and advisory support.
What They’re Looking For- CPA license (or actively working toward it).
- 5–10 years of recent public accounting experience, preferably with a small-to-mid-sized firm.
- Strong tax and accounting skills, with the ability to both prepare and review work.
- Comfort working directly with small business clients.
- QuickBooks proficiency; ProSystem fx Engagement or UltraTax experience a plus.
- A self-starter with strong organizational skills, client focus, and leadership ability.
Compensation & Growth
This role offers a target compensation range of $120,000 – $150,000+, commensurate with your experience, technical expertise, and leadership contributions.
In addition, this position comes with long-term growth opportunities. As the firm continues to expand, there is a clear path for advancement.
The Details- Location: Marietta, GA
- Firm Culture: Supportive, professional, and family-oriented.
- Perks: Company paid employee benefits, paid time off for volunteer work, annual celebrations, and a strong sense of team.
If you’re ready to move beyond the corporate grind and into a role where you can shape your career, impact clients directly, and enjoy a balanced lifestyle, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
