Engineering Manager (Remote)
Our groundbreaking and exceptionally innovative SaaS client is seeking to hire a Video Engineering Manager. Our client is a leading provider in cloud-based video solutions for both enterprise and educational systems. Video based learning continues to appreciate historic growth and our client’s video repository is amongst the largest available in the world. With millions of hours of new monthly content, our client deftly manages quick turnaround with the highest standards. As a thought and innovation leader in video platforms, this position is intended for the highly creative and technical problem solver. The Engineering Manager will be keenly knowledgeable of all technical details with an innate understanding how to lead and develop a team of engineers to ensure continued product enhancement and customer experience.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure seamless customer experience creating, uploading, and/or broadcasting video content confirming that the content is immediately available for sharing
• Ensure customers have an unbelievable feature-rich, user-friendly editing experience
• Ensure viewers of videos have a stable and high-quality multi-stream experience
• Identify and fulfill a plan for continual product improvement, develop internal and external partnerships, and build a delivery team
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience or training in industry
• Extensive experience working on complex projects with a focus in C#, C++, or Java development
• Strong management background to support teams of 4+ senior and staff/principal-level ICs engineers
• Monitor and run operations for tier one services following best practices
• Ability to project manage, communicate directly with stakeholders, and communicate using non-technical lexes
• Technical expertise in distributed and scalable system architecture
• Capacity to rapidly become a subject matter expert in new areas and new technical stacks
• Firm understanding of video technologies, technical architecture, and software engineering
• Strong attention to detail
Nice to have:
• Technical expertise in video systems and streaming technologies
• Experience with media, codecs, graphics, or GPGPU programming and the frameworks within these spaces (i.e., GStreamer, DirectShow, OpenGL, FFMpeg, CUDA, DirectX, etc.)
• Experience creating high performance code and performance tuning
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms preferred
• Running Windows and Linux systems in production
