Our national hospital chain client is seeking a Director of Med/Surg for their 22-bed state of the art unit in North Carolina. You are responsible for the management of the overall operations of the Med/Surg Unit and for directing your staff and all programs of the Med/Surg Department. You are part of a collaborative team emphasizing hospital culture. You are responsible for developing, establishing, and implementing approved standards, objectives, and guidelines for service delivery and organizational performance. Required Skills:
24/7 Administrative duties and authority, accountability, and responsibility for Med/Surg Department
Maintaining high-quality patient care through staff supervision, staff education and mentorship, coaching, counseling, hiring, and annual performance reviews
Capability to facilitate and resolve issues and conflicts seamlessly with staff members, physicians, patients, and hospital visitors
Strong team building and collaborative skills ensuring staff engagement
Highly communicative and organized, with very strong written and problem-solving skills
Professional methodology at all times
Manage operations according to standards of practice, regulatory requirements, and policy
Ability to conduct oneself professionally in stressful situations
Robust critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Required Education:
BSN Required; MSN Preferred
Qualifications:
Current/active NC RN license or compact RN license
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Preferred 5 years experience in a Med/Surg setting required
Minimum 2 years Med/Surg management experience required
