SQL DBA

*6 month Contract to Hire**

**At this time we can not accept any candidate who requires sponsorship**

**Must report to the Nashville office OR the Birmingham office 1/month**

We are actively seeking a talented senior level SQL DBA to help support the current growth within an innovative financial organization. The ideal fit for this position, is an individual actively looking to leverage their current expertise to directly support the areas of Data Design, Architecture, and Data ETL.


Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, implement, and maintain multiple database environments, both production and development
• Work with internal parties and vendors to plan, design, and implement information technology solutions, providing expertise in areas including Backup/Recovery Strategies, Performance Tuning, Data Migration, Security, and Capacity Planning
• Implementation of database monitoring/management tools and policies
• Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system
• Work to ensure high resilience of the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases
• Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime
• Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management
• Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL development
• Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include roll-out and upgrades
• Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs
• Provide on call coverage to support production database problem determination/resolution
• Responsible for designing, developing, and deploying key reports used by management Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science • 5+ years database administration experience managing SQL Server
• In depth SQL Server Database Administration experience
• Hands on experience working with SSIS, ETL (Monitoring & Logging), and Data Architecture
• Experience implementing disaster-recovery techniques, implementing, and maintaining high availability solutions including SQL Server Clusters
• Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on database projects
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service
