Position Overview:
Schedule and Hours:
•Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday – Friday) (excl. 30 min lunch)
•Hours per Week: 37.5 hours
Duration:
•Contract Term: 2024–2025 School Year
Key Responsibilities:
•Collaborate in developing and implementing the district’s instructional program, focusing on occupational therapy.
•Design and execute therapy programs to support students’ development in motor, perceptual, and self-help skills, tailored to individual needs, interests, and abilities.
•Guide students toward achieving Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
•Create case management plans that align with IEP requirements.
•Regularly assess and document students’ therapeutic progress.
•Foster and maintain appropriate standards of student behavior conducive to a functional learning environment.
•Participate in IEP meetings as needed.
•Develop and prescribe effective therapy programs or refer to appropriate personnel, providing progress reports as required.
•Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff about occupational therapy programs and student progress.
•Select and manage instructional materials and equipment while maintaining inventory records.
Qualifications:
Required:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
•Valid Washington Occupational Therapist License.
•Valid Washington State Board license in Occupational Therapy.
•Special Education Teaching License (supplemental licenses not required).
•Open to new graduates/new teachers.
