Job Title: Anesthesia Assistant

Essential Duties:
- Assist in administering anesthesia under the direct supervision of an anesthesiologist.
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies.
- Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and help review patient history and medical conditions.
- Assist in developing and implementing anesthesia care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia to ensure safety and comfort.
- Assist with postoperative care and manage anesthesia-related tasks as directed by the anesthesiologist.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of anesthesia procedures and patient status.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Preparation: Assist in preparing patients for anesthesia, including starting IVs and applying monitoring equipment.
- Anesthesia Support: Aid in the administration of general, regional, and local anesthesia, as directed by the anesthesiologist.
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient vitals and assist in adjusting anesthesia levels as necessary.
- Emergency Response: Assist in responding promptly to anesthesia-related emergencies or complications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Education and Training: Participate in training and educational programs to stay updated on best practices in anesthesia care.
Requirements:
- Certification: Certified as an Anesthesia Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Licensure: Active Anesthesia Assistant license in the state of practice.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant program.
- Experience: Prior clinical experience in anesthesia support is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in anesthesia techniques, patient assessment, and use of anesthesia equipment.
