Flexible Shift Requirements:
Days Needed: Any 2 days from Monday to Friday.
- Hours: 8-hour shifts within typical business hours (7 AM - 3 PM, 8 AM - 4 PM, or 9 AM - 5 PM).
Job Overview:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) will provide treatment and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as those with co-occurring mental health and addiction diagnoses. The role involves developing, recovering, and maintaining activities of daily living (ADL). The OT will deliver effective, client-centered services to help consumers confidently and independently perform daily tasks. This position requires a licensed Occupational Therapist to supervise level II OT students and may involve some travel to satellite locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performance Support: Address aspects of consumer performance to enhance engagement in occupations impacting health, well-being, and quality of life.
- Treatment Model: Select and adapt appropriate occupational therapy treatment models, methods, and approaches for each case.
- Interventions: Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in ADLs and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
- Task Approaches: Teach consumers new ways to approach tasks and break down activities into manageable components.
- Environmental Assessment: Evaluate consumers home and other environments, advising on necessary alterations.
- Adaptive Equipment: Recommend and train consumers in the use of adaptive equipment as needed.
- Family Guidance: Provide guidance and education to family members and caregivers.
- Progress Monitoring: Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals.
- Documentation: Collect data and document the processes followed.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Certification**: Must be a certified Occupational Therapist with active state licensure.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in evaluation, treatment planning, and intervention within behavioral healthcare.
- Competence in supervising, evaluating, and educating occupational therapy fieldwork students.
- Administrative skills for managing a student fieldwork program.
- Strong consultation skills.
- Preferably, knowledge of trauma's impact on individuals and staff well-being.
Additional Information for Suppliers:
The candidate will have the opportunity to train with the current OT before her maternity leave. A valid driver's license and certification as an Occupational Therapist in the state are required.
