About The Role

What You’ll Be Responsible For 

  • In this field-based role, you will execute and document critical heat treatment processes that ensure the integrity and performance of industrial components. 
  • Perform on-site heat treatment processes including preheating, post-weld heat treatment (PWHT), stress relieving, annealing, and normalizing
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate portable resistance or induction heating equipment 
  • Install, monitor, and verify thermocouples, temperature controllers, and data logging systems Interpret and follow weld isometrics, blueprints, and heat-treat specifications precisely 
  • Monitor and control temperature cycles to ensure compliance with required standards 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including charts, logs, and temperature/time records 
  • Conduct hardness and dimensional checks to confirm treatment outcomes meet specifications 
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance on heating systems, cables, and blankets 
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE, hot work permits, and equipment handling standards 
  • Coordinate closely with welders, engineers, and supervisors to ensure proper execution of heat-treat processes


What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required Training or coursework in metallurgy or materials science preferred
  • Experience in industrial heat treating or related technical trade Hands-on familiarity with resistance and/or induction heating equipment
  • Working knowledge of heat-treat principles, metallurgy, and applicable industry standards (e.g., AWS D10.10 / D10.22)
  • Comfortable working independently in field environments while following established procedures Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to documentation and compliance
