We’re seeking a Shipping & Receiving/Inventory Clerk to join our operations team in Louisville, KY. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys organized work, and thrives in a steady, hands-on environment where consistency and quality matter.

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely flow of materials through our warehouse and shop. From receiving and inspecting incoming shipments to preparing outbound deliveries, this role supports daily operations and long-term inventory accuracy. You’ll help ensure that every part and product that passes through our facility meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and organization.

What You’ll Do

Receiving & Inspection

  • Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition.
  • Match deliveries against purchase orders and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Scan and email delivery documents for Sage entry and distribute materials to proper locations.
  • Maintain customer parts holding areas and ensure traceability of all materials.

Shipping & Outbound Logistics

  • Prepare, document, and ship outbound materials and customer orders daily.
  • Load and unload trucks, coordinate customer pick-ups, and ensure all freight documentation is complete.
  • Estimate freight costs and support efficient scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups.

Inventory & Material Handling

  • Pull and issue materials for work orders in Sage, ensuring all parts are properly labeled, staged, and tracked.
  • Conduct cycle counts, assist with physical inventory, and maintain organized storage areas.
  • Manage spare parts and supply inventories and ensure warehouse cleanliness and safety.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner closely with purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and internal departments to support operational flow.
  • Supervise Precision drivers as directed and help coordinate deliveries as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or logistics training preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience in warehouse, inventory, or shipping/receiving (industrial environment a plus).
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Proficient in basic computer use; familiarity with Sage or other ERP/WMS systems preferred.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform warehouse tasks.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and motivated by structure and consistency.
