Job Description

We’re seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in precision, accountability, and quality workmanship. This position requires a technical expert who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is motivated by keeping equipment and vehicles in top condition.

The Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mechanic will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on company trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical intuition, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, compressors, generators, and heavy equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and ensure accurate service documentation.
  • Support field technicians with on-site repair needs and equipment setup.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and shop equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Complete DOT inspections and ensure all fleet vehicles are compliant and field-ready.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and communicate repair status with management.
  • Ensure full compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a diesel, heavy equipment, or industrial mechanic.
  • Proficiency in diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical repairs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured maintenance procedures.
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Preferred

  • Class A or B CDL (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
  • Experience in construction, industrial, or oilfield environments.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • ASE or equivalent industry certifications.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Capable of operating vehicles, lifts, and heavy equipment safely.
