Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Journeyman Lineman to join our team in Gonzales, Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience in constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. This role requires a strong commitment to safety protocols, the ability to work in various environmental conditions, and the flexibility to respond to emergency outages. 

  RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution lines. 
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other related machinery. 
  • Perform inspections to identify and address potential issues in the electrical distribution system. 
  • Respond to emergency outages and perform necessary repairs promptly and safely. 
  • Ensure all work complies with national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations. 
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time tracking. 
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors and clients. 
  • Adherent to all safety protocols and company policies.  

 QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience. 
  • Valid Journeyman Lineman certification. 
  • Proficiency in using electrical tools and diagnostic equipment. 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints. 
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations. 
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including working at heights and in various weather conditions. 

  PREFERRED SKILLS 

  • Experience with medium voltage terminations and PLC wiring. 
  • Knowledge of substation equipment and maintenance procedures. 
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and other utility monitoring tools. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
