About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a skilled PHP Application Developer to join their team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This is an opportunity to work with a stable, growing organization where technology plays a critical role in delivering innovative solutions.

In this position, you will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architecture through deployment and ongoing support. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable applications that drive operational efficiency and business success.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise web applications
• Enhance and support existing applications to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to support application deployment and ongoing operations across Linux and Windows environments
• Work directly with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Implement and maintain secure coding practices and application security standards
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolutions
• Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems and development practices
• Communicate project updates, technical concepts, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Manage multiple initiatives while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in PHP application development
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise-level web applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience

Technical Requirements

Required Skills

• PHP 7.x / 8.x
• LAMP stack development
• JavaScript and React
• HTML, CSS, XML, and AJAX
• REST and SOAP API integrations
• MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Dojo and/or Ionic frameworks
• Linux system administration experience
• Familiarity with application deployment and server management best practices
