Applications Sales Engineer | Aerospace, Space & Rad-Hard Electronics

About the Role

As an Applications Sales Engineer, you'll serve as the critical link between customers, engineering, and sales. You'll combine deep technical knowledge in electronics, aerospace/space systems, and radiation-hardened (rad-hard) technologies with the relationship-building skills to drive real business growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customers across pre-sales and post-sales activities
  • Develop and present technical solutions, proposals, and product configurations tailored to customer requirements
  • Lead customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions for aerospace, space, and high-reliability electronics applications
  • Translate customer needs into optimized product and system-level solutions
  • Provide voice-of-customer feedback to engineering and product management to influence the product roadmap
  • Support new product development from concept through production
  • Collaborate across sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing to drive wins
  • Evaluate competitive offerings and help define differentiation strategies

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
  • 6 to 8+ years of experience in applications engineering, systems engineering, or technical sales
  • Strong background in electronics for aerospace, space, or defense applications
  • Hands-on experience with radiation-hardened or radiation-tolerant components and systems
  • Familiarity with power architectures, electronic subsystems, and embedded computing (SBCs, flight processors)
  • Comfort in customer-facing environments with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting technical proposals and capture planning
  • Exposure to space-qualified hardware qualifications and standards
  • Prior experience working directly with aerospace primes or government contractors
