The Role: Asset Management Technician

Location: Remote

Type: Contract

What You’ll Do: 

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Asset Management Technician to support a PC refresh project. This individual will help track computer equipment, maintain accurate asset records, and coordinate the movement and distribution of hardware as devices are replaced. The ideal candidate has basic IT asset management or inventory experience and is comfortable working with spreadsheets, asset tracking systems, and end-user equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Track and maintain inventory records for laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and other IT equipment.
• Record asset tag numbers, serial numbers, assigned users, locations, and device status.
• Assist with tracking existing equipment and newly deployed devices throughout the PC refresh process.
• Coordinate equipment distribution, collection, and returns as employees receive replacement devices.
• Update asset management systems and spreadsheets to reflect equipment changes.
• Identify and report discrepancies between physical inventory and asset records.
• Assist with preparing, labeling, organizing, and staging equipment for deployment.
• Coordinate with IT support and project team members to ensure asset records are accurate and up to date.
• Help ensure retired or replaced equipment is properly documented and accounted for.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous experience in IT asset management, inventory control, desktop support, or a similar role is preferred.
• Basic understanding of computers, laptops, and common IT hardware.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and inventory tracking systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow established processes and maintain accurate documentation.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with IT teams and end users.
• Ability to handle and move computer equipment as needed.
