Plant Manager – Greater Detroit Area
GRS Recruiting has partnered with a dynamic, well-established manufacturer in the hydraulic industry to find a Plant Manager for their operation in the greater Detroit area. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who wants to be on the floor, lead from the front, and drive meaningful change in a growing organization.

This position oversees production, maintenance, and distribution, with approximately 20 direct reports, and collaborates closely with quality, customer service, and HR. The company is stable and successful, but actively looking to elevate performance and continue growing through strong leadership and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

• Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the manufacturing floor
• Proven experience managing plant operations with direct oversight of production, maintenance, and distribution teams
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of 20 employees while fostering accountability and engagement
• Strong background in manufacturing, with experience in lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives
• Comfortable leading change and driving performance in a turnaround or growth-focused environment
• Experience with ERP systems, with SAP strongly preferred
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced setting
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred, or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience
