Strategic Business Development Manager
Houston, TX

GRS Recruiting has partnered with a leading hydraulic manufacturer to identify a driven Business Development Manager to support continued growth across key markets. This is a highly visible, high-impact role focused on new business development and expanding market presence across multiple industries, including Oil and Gas, energy, and mobile applications.

This position is ideal for a motivated, hands-on sales professional who thrives in building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and navigating complex distribution and OEM channels.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development and customer acquisition across national markets
  • Identify and penetrate new industries and competitors through strategic prospecting
  • Collaborate with internal sales teams and external partners to grow market share
  • Engage with existing customers to uncover new opportunities and capabilities
  • Manage distributor relationships and resolve channel conflicts effectively
  • Support long-term growth initiatives, including expansion into mobile and energy sectors

Requirements

  • Based in or near Houston, TX preferred, with flexibility for strong candidates in Texas or nationwide
  • Strong background in fluid power, hydraulics, or related industries; accumulators experience is a plus
  • Experience in OEM sales and working with distribution networks
  • Proven success in new business development and customer acquisition
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally as needed
  • Familiarity with Oil and Gas and exposure to additional industries such as mobile hydraulics or energy
  • Experience managing multiple distributors and navigating competitive sales environments
  • Strategic thinker with a plan-oriented mindset and a proven track record of results
