Vice President of Sales – Industrial Distribution
Location: Maryland (Relocation Required)
Are you a proven sales leader ready to drive revenue growth for a well-respected industrial distributor? We’re partnering with a trusted name in the industrial supply sector to find a dynamic Vice President of Sales who can take the reins of their sales organization and lead it to new heights. This is a high-impact role with a clear mandate: deliver results through strategic vision, team leadership, and strong customer/vendor relationships.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for setting and executing sales strategies that align with broader company objectives. You’ll directly lead the Branch and Sales Managers across the organization—providing support, guidance, and accountability to ensure sales targets are met and exceeded.
Key focus areas include:
Leading the overall sales organization with a focus on revenue growth.
Setting company-wide and branch-level sales goals and KPIs.
Coaching and directing Sales Managers on execution of sales strategies, deal negotiation, lead generation, and closing.
Overseeing vendor relationships, attending key distributor/vendor meetings, and assessing product line performance.
Ensuring quality customer service and inventory alignment with sales demand.
Participating in high-level sales planning and decision-making related to profitability (P&L responsibility included).
Collaborating across departments to ensure the sales strategy supports company goals.
Preferred background:
Proven leadership experience in sales within an industrial distributor setting.
Experience selling mechanical equipment into industrial, commercial, and/or municipal markets.
Prior exposure to a service-oriented business model is highly desirable.
Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, including knowledge of pumping systems and compressed air systems.
Experience conducting business into Maryland-based industrial accounts is a major plus.
Strong background in the Manufacturer’s Representative/Distributor industry.
Demonstrated success in a senior leadership capacity.
A college degree in a mechanical field is a plus.
