Regional Sales Engineer – Motion Control | Greater Chicago Area

Location: Remote-based in Greater Chicago | Travel: ~30–40%

GRS Recruiting has partnered with a respected family-owned motion control manufacturer to find a driven Regional Sales Engineer to grow their presence in the greater Chicago area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit, entrepreneurial team where your voice matters and your impact is immediate.


What You’ll Do:

  • Drive new business development across the region, with a strong focus on hunting and building new customer relationships.

  • Sell technically complex solutions — primarily custom motion control systems and power transmission components.

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, collaborating with engineering and product teams to develop tailored solutions for each client.

  • Manage your territory autonomously, while working closely with a collaborative national team.

  • Travel as needed (30–40%) to meet with clients and partners.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in motion control sales is highly preferred; related experience in gearboxes or power transmission also considered.

  • Strong technical aptitude — engineering degree preferred.

  • Hunter mentality: you’re proactive, persistent, and self-motivated.

  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats and stepping into different roles when needed.

  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-first culture.
