Start Date: July 20, 2026

Scope: All six Scenthound locations as they open (first store grand opening September 12)

About Us

Scenthound is on a mission to make routine dog care simple and accessible. We’re not just grooming dogs. We’re building a movement for healthier, happier pups and a connected community of dog lovers. Our focus is preventative care, consistent customer experience, and creating an environment where both dogs and people thrive.

About the Opportunity

This is not a traditional sales seat.

You will be the engine that fills each Scenthound location across Westchester and Nassau Counties, working both sides of the funnel: getting out into the community to create demand, and personally converting every inbound lead into a member. This is a player-coach role. You run the phones yourself today, and you build and hire the team underneath you as volume grows.

You will own this number with real autonomy. Your pipeline, your conversion rate, your KPIs. The owner is a partner, not a supervisor: in your corner, invested in your success, and committed to building this together with full transparency and a shared stake in the outcome.

In the short term, you will fully own the membership growth engine for the Scarsdale launch, leading pre-sales and establishing the community partnership network. As additional locations open, the role scales with the business. Long term, this becomes the regional head-of-membership seat as the six-location operation comes together.

Our Core Values

Dog First – We advocate for the health and well-being of every dog in our care.
One Pack – We trust, respect, and support one another.
Bring Love – We bring good energy to our work and lead with kindness.
Seek Growth – We believe. We learn. We grow.
Make a Difference – We are purpose-driven and strive to leave things better than we found them.

The Role

As Membership Growth Manager, you will own the single number that makes this business work: net new memberships. You are responsible for filling each store before and after it opens, working community partnerships, events, and inbound conversion all the way through the funnel.

This role combines field marketing, disciplined sales execution, and operational team-building. It is built for someone who is equally comfortable creating partnerships in the community and running tight inbound metrics on a phone list.

Key Responsibilities

Grass-Roots and Community Sales

  • Build the local membership pipeline for each new store during its build-out and pre-sales window. Hit pre-opening membership targets before grand opening day.
  • Develop referral partnerships with vets, groomers, pet stores, shelters, rescues, doggie daycares, and dog-friendly local businesses.
  • Plan and work community events, adoption days, and neighborhood activations that put Scenthound in front of dog owners.
  • Be the face of Scenthound locally. Represent the brand, tell the story, and create demand in markets where no one knows us yet.

Call Center and Inbound Conversion

  • Personally handle inbound membership inquiries (calls, texts, web leads, walk-in follow-ups) and convert them to members.
  • Own speed-to-lead: respond fast, follow up relentlessly, and never let a warm lead go cold.
  • Build the call-center playbook from scratch: scripts, objection handling, follow-up cadences, and the KPIs we'll manage to.
  • Stand up the tools and tracking (CRM and lead flow) so every lead is logged and nothing leaks.
  • Hire, train, and coach a junior Sales Associate to take over day-to-day phone volume once it justifies the seat, then shift toward managing the function.

Retention and Membership Health

  • Partner with store teams (the in-store Member Associates) to onboard new members well and reduce early cancellations.
  • Run save and win-back plays for at-risk and lapsed members.

Success in the First 90 Days

  • A documented grass-roots playbook and an active partner list for Store 1 (Scarsdale), with named vet and pet-business relationships in motion.
  • Pre-sales membership pace for Store 1 on track to its grand-opening target of September 12, 2026.
  • A working inbound process: every lead logged, a follow-up cadence running, and a measured lead-to-member conversion rate.
  • A clear hiring spec for the junior Sales Associate and a point of view on when to pull the trigger.

How You’ll be Measured

  • Net new memberships per month and per store opening
  • Pre-opening membership target hit rate
  • Lead-to-member conversion rate and speed-to-lead
  • Partner relationships created and producing referrals
  • Early-life retention and cancellation rate of members you bring in

Experience:

  • A genuine hunter. You would rather be out building relationships and closing than sitting behind a desk, and you are just as comfortable working a phone list.
  • You can carry a number and hold yourself to it without being managed.
  • Equally strong at the grass-roots, in-person game and the disciplined, metrics-driven inbound game. This role needs both.
  • A builder: comfortable creating the playbook, not just running someone else's.
  • Local knowledge of Westchester or Nassau County is a real plus.
  • Dog lover. You have to mean it here.
  • Bonus: prior multi-unit, franchise, fitness or wellness membership, or field-sales experience.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly base plus a quarterly performance bonus tied directly to net new memberships. Bonus payouts accelerate as you exceed quarterly membership growth targets, with no cap on the upside. Strong performers can materially outearn the base.
  • Override commission on memberships produced by the junior Sales Associate once that seat is filled, scaling your earnings as you transition from individual contributor to player-coach.
  • Pre-opening performance bonuses tied to hitting membership pre-sale targets at each new store grand opening.
  • Healthcare: ICHRA stipend at hire, transitioning to full company-sponsored healthcare as the business scales.
  • 2 weeks of paid time off plus 5 sick days.
  • Professional development and in-market training opportunities.

Growth Path

Scenthound is a rapidly growing national franchise system. This role is intentionally designed as a foundational seat in a six-location build-out across Westchester and Nassau Counties. As stores open, the call center becomes a team you lead and the grass-roots engine becomes a function you scale, with a clear path toward a multi-unit head-of-sales or membership role and comp adjustments to match.
