General Manager (Scenter Manager) – Scenthound (Scarsdale, NY)
Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000 base + uncapped performance bonus + ownership-track equity participation
Schedule: Full-time | 5-day work week with Sundays and one weekday off

Anticipated Start Date: June 1

About the Opportunity

This is not a traditional retail management role. 

You will be the founding operational leader for Scenthound’s first location in Westchester County, working directly with the owner to launch, operate, and scale a six-location business across Westchester and Nassau Counties. This role demands an operator who runs the business as if it’s their own, not someone who needs daily oversight.

You will run this business with full autonomy. Your team, your P&L, your performance, your budget. The owner is a partner, not a supervisor: in your corner, invested in your success, and committed to building this together with full transparency and a shared stake in the outcome.

In the short term, you will fully own the launch of the Scarsdale Scenter, leading pre-sales, building team culture, and serving as the face of the brand in the community. As additional locations open, this role is designed to evolve into an Area Manager position. Long term, this becomes the regional leadership role as the six-location operation comes together.

The Role

As Scenter Manager, you’ll own your store’s performance from team development and customer satisfaction to revenue growth and membership sales. You’ll lead from the front, setting the tone for service excellence while meeting and exceeding key business goals.

This role combines sales strategy, people leadership, and operational execution. It is built for someone who is confident in influencing others, measuring results, and turning great experiences into long-term members.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

  • Drive membership and revenue goals through consultative, relationship-based selling.
  • Set and track weekly and monthly KPIs for sales performance, conversion rates, and member retention.
  • Train and motivate your team to confidently educate every customer on Scenthound memberships and services.
  • Partner with ownership to execute local marketing and community outreach initiatives.
  • Champion the pre-sale and grand opening process - converting early interest into active memberships.
  • Serve as the local face of the brand in community events, partnerships, and any local media or press opportunities.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train your full store team. You own your team end to end.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire your team to achieve sales and service excellence.
  • Create a positive, competitive environment that celebrates wins and encourages accountability.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment and customer-first thinking.

Operations & Customer Experience

  • Own full P&L responsibility for the location in partnership with ownership.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations and adherence to Scenthound’s service standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for dogs and their owners.
  • Oversee scheduling, inventory, and front-of-house presentation.
  • Manage store financials and performance metrics.
  • Lead pre-opening execution including hiring, training, pre-sales, and building the operating model that will be the template across future locations.

Experience:

  • 2–5 years in a sales-focused leadership role within fitness, hospitality, retail, or membership-based services.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and leading a small team.
  • Strong customer relationship management and consultative sales ability.
  • Prior experience in franchised or service-based businesses preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $70,000-$75,000 annual base salary
  • Uncapped performance bonus tied to clearly defined top-line and bottom-line KPIs. Structure is designed to reward performance exponentially: bonus accelerates above 100% of budget and accelerates above 125%. Strong performers can meaningfully outearn their base. 
  • On-plan target total compensation in the $80-85k range, with significant upside on over-performance.
  • Ownership-track equity participation in the future as the business scales. Built so high performers participate in the upside of the multi-unit business they help build.
  • Healthcare stipend at hire, transitioning to full company-sponsored healthcare as the business scales.
  • 2 weeks of paid time off plus 5 sick days.
  • Corporate onboarding and one week of in-person Scenthound Immersive Training in Florida (July)
  • Three days at the annual Scenthound National conference (October)
  • Professional development and in-market training opportunities

Growth Path

Scenthound is a rapidly growing national franchise system. This role is intentionally designed as the first step in building a multi-unit operation. High-performing Scenter Managers are positioned to grow into Area Manager roles with responsibility across multiple locations as the business scales across Westchester and Nassau Counties, with comp adjustments to match.
