Retail Area Manager – Scenthound

Location: Palm Beach County
Compensation: $65,000-$85,000 (base+bonus)

Position Summary

We are hiring an Area Manager (Retail District Manager) to oversee and successfully lead multiple corporate locations. The ideal candidate has multi-unit retail management experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a proven passion for membership-based sales.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a region of stores to execute our business model in a safe, loving way

  • Lead recruiting and onboarding efforts for store teams

  • Drive membership sales through health and wellness education

  • Implement profitable strategies and monitor store performance

  • Hold teams accountable to reaching targeted goals

  • Develop and mentor leaders within stores, creating a bench for internal promotions

  • Incorporate Scenthound’s mission and core values in daily operations

  • Facilitate and demonstrate training programs for staff

  • Advocate for all dogs in our care and foster positive community relations

  • Support customer service by empowering stores to resolve customer needs

  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and safety standards

  • Conduct daily communications through meetings, huddles, and 1:1s

  • Deliver timely performance evaluations to store management teams

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of multi-unit management experience (retail or restaurant preferred)

  • Proven track record of generating profit across multiple locations

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Financial acumen with P&L management experience

  • Proficient computer and CRM skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Email, Internet)

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Flexible availability, including weekends as needed

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated integrity, initiative, and ability to build strategies and processes from the ground up
