Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the professional qualifications and experience required to sit for the South Carolina General Roofing Contractor exam. This is a salaried role with an additional commission structure designed to reward sales volume and job profitability.
The Sales Consultant is a key position responsible for managing projects, generating sales, and driving operational excellence within the territory. Working closely alongside the Owner-Operator, this individual will play a pivotal role in building strong customer relationships, creating accurate project estimates, overseeing project execution, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service before, during, and after each project to ensure total satisfaction
- Manage job sites from initial lead through final payment, ensuring timely and efficient project completion
- Provide accurate and detailed project estimates, addressing customer needs and expectations
- Build and maintain a strong network of qualified subcontractors to support ongoing projects, ensuring quality craftsmanship and adherence to timelines
- Generate new business opportunities through direct engagement, networking, referrals, and door-to-door canvassing
- Represent the company at networking events, home and trade shows, and BNI groups
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers and community partners
- Educate property owners on project details, pricing, and the storm damage insurance process
- Meet with insurance adjusters on residential and commercial properties to support claims and project success
- Negotiate contracts, close sales, and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets
- Monitor budgets, timelines, and project scopes to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction
- Utilize modern technology and CRM tools to streamline operations and improve customer interactions
Requirements
- At least two years of roofing experience, with qualifications to pursue the South Carolina General Roofing Contractor license
- Proficiency in estimating with a strong understanding of roofing, siding, gutters, and windows
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building long-term relationships
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, budgets, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organization, time management, leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar CRM software (training provided if needed)
- Self-motivated, honest, and committed to helping people
- Coachable with a desire to grow personally and professionally
- Must be available some evenings and Saturdays
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
