General Manager of Concrete Coatings Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Manager for our Concrete Coatings division to drive revenue growth in the commercial and industrial concrete coatings segments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, business development, and team leadership, with experience in various concrete coatings including, but not limited to, epoxies, polyureas & polyaspartics, methyl-methacrylate (MMA), concrete polishing, urethane cements and joint filling. This role involves driving sales, developing key client relationships, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction while achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement a sales strategy aimed at growing the company’s market share in concrete coatings.
- Set and achieve YOY revenue goals and performance targets.
- Identify new market opportunities and expand business into additional segments and industries.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional campaigns, sales material, and lead generation strategies.
Business Development & Client Management:
- Identify and build strong relationships with contractors, builders, architects, facility managers, and homeowners to expand the customer base.
- Conduct sales presentations, product demonstrations, and site visits to showcase product benefits.
- Develop long-term relationships with key accounts and provide solutions to meet their needs.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with clients.
- Monitor sales pipeline and track team performance using CRM tools.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and market trend analysis to senior management.
Project Estimation:
- Review, in detail, customer provided RFPs to accurately price projects using blueprints, bid plans and takeoff sheets.
- Write detailed contracts that include the full SOW and products used to ensure accurate completion of the project.
- Attend pre-construction meetings with general contractors as required.
- Monitor and review addendums issued for any price fluctuations to currently estimated projects.
Operations Management:
- Kickoff each project with the installation crew and project manager to ensure customer expectations are understood and met.
- Coordinate with project managers to accurately order material per project.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely product delivery and customer service.
Qualifications & Skills:
- MUST HAVE proven experience in sales and leadership, with a strong focus in various concrete coatings, epoxy flooring, urethane cement and construction material.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and motivational skills to drive team success.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of concrete coatings products, installation processes, and industry trends.
- Ability to analyze market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle objections and close deals effectively.
- Ability to travel as needed to visit clients, job sites, and industry events.
Education & Experience:
- 5+ years in the concrete/resinous coatings industry is required!
- 3-5 years of sales management experience in the coatings, flooring, or construction industry.
- Hands- on experience in installation of concrete coatings.
- Ability to read blueprints, bid plan sets, takeoffs, requests for proposals, scopes of work.
