Position Summary:
As Director of Operations, you will serve as the operational lead across multiple locations within the region, working in tandem with the Regional Director who focuses on sales and business development. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure field teams and subcontractors execute on-time, on-budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll manage scheduling, subcontractor acquisition and performance, painter team oversight, and operational systems with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Execution & Quality Control
- Oversee day-to-day field operations across all locations.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards for each job.
- Conduct regular job site visits to audit quality and team performance.
- Maintain accountability across painter crews and subcontractors.
Subcontractor & Team Management
- Recruit, vet, and onboard subcontractors and painters aligned with That 1 Painter's standards.
- Manage subcontractor relationships, including performance reviews, conflict resolution, and compliance with job scopes and timelines.
Scheduling & Logistics
- Coordinate and optimize job scheduling across multiple crews to meet customer timelines and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Regional Director to adjust schedules as needed based on team capacity or weather.
- Anticipate and resolve delays or issues in real-time to maintain project timelines.
Customer Satisfaction & Issue Resolution
- Support the Regional Director in ensuring 5-star customer experiences by managing back-end logistics smoothly.
- Proactively address operational issues that may impact customer satisfaction (e.g., delays, incomplete jobs, quality concerns).
- Step in to support escalated service recovery when needed.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Partner with the owners and Regional Director to manage job-level budgets and labor costs.
- Implement controls to reduce waste and optimize margins while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
- Track subcontractor payouts and material usage to ensure alignment with estimates.
Reporting & Optimization
- Monitor and report on KPIs related to operations: completion rates, rework percentages, schedule adherence, labor efficiency, etc.
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements to increase productivity and profitability.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in residential or commercial operations, preferably in construction, painting, or home services.
- Strong background in subcontractor or field crew management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules across multiple teams.
- Clear, confident communicator with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Proficient with scheduling software, CRMs, and productivity tools.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation: $90,000-$150,000 (base+bonus)
- Bonus potential tied to job profitability and operational KPIs
