Job Description

Director of Pediatric Clinical Excellence

San Diego, CA | Hybrid
First Place Pediatrics + Parker’s Room Training Lab

Pediatric home care is ready for a reset.

Too many nurses are rushed into high-acuity homes.
Too many competencies are checked off — not earned.

We’re building something different.

First Place Pediatrics is expanding Parker’s Room Training Lab to create the premier pediatric skills and certification platform for medically fragile children in home care.

We’re looking for a proven pediatric home health leader — someone who has led from the front lines as a DON, Clinical Supervisor, or clinical leader in private duty nursing.

This is not a classroom role.
This is real clinical leadership.

 What You’ll Lead

  • Certify nurses for high-acuity pediatric care (Trach, Vent, G-Tube)

  • Build structured training pathways for new graduate nurses

  • Lead hands-on pediatric skills lab training

  • Set the standard for clinical competency across markets

  • Ensure nurses are truly ready before they enter a child’s home

Who You Are

  • RN with strong pediatric private duty/home health experience

  • Former DON, Clinical Supervisor, or equivalent leadership role

  • Experienced overseeing ventilator & trach pediatric cases

  • High standards. Strong mentorship mindset.

  • You know the difference between checked off and competent

Why This Role Exists

We’re raising the bar in pediatric private duty nursing — and building the training model others will follow.

If you’ve led pediatric teams and want to shape the next generation of nurses, we want to talk.
