Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) will drive the development and implementation of projects to enhance process efficiency, aligning with the company's strategic goals. Success in this role is gauged by overall plant productivity, cost-saving initiatives, adherence to safety regulations, and timely delivery of quality results. Key responsibilities involve identifying manufacturing needs, defining project scopes, and monitoring project progress. The ME should be a proactive, hands-on leader capable of thriving in a dynamic FDA-regulated manufacturing environment.

Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) will spearhead projects aimed at improving processes to meet company goals. This role's success is determined by enhanced plant productivity, cost reduction, adherence to safety standards, and timely quality deliverables. The ME will identify manufacturing needs, define project scopes, and monitor progress. A proactive, hands-on leader is essential, especially in an evolving FDA-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Gain in-depth knowledge of our client's products, systems, and manufacturing operations across all facilities.

- Devise innovative solutions to existing manufacturing issues.

- Conduct research, design, and develop manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and equipment.

- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and employee engagement.

- Develop processes and procedures to meet budgetary and performance targets.

- Act as a liaison between project teams and the engineering department.

- Establish standards for work centers through time studies, measuring utilization, and efficiency.

- Justify equipment purchases and capital investments with data-driven rationale.

- Apply Lean principles and tools such as waste elimination, daily management, problem-solving, 5S, visual management, standard work, and value stream mapping.

- Collaborate with Marketing, Packaging Engineers, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Product Development for new product development and launches.

- Perform additional duties as required to meet company objectives.

- Communicate effectively with various departments and function within a team environment.

- Manage and execute Lean and continuous improvement projects, optimizing floor space and other special projects.

- Lead cross-functional teams to drive projects from conception to completion.

- Coach and train team members in continuous improvement tools.

- Identify and prepare business cases for capital investments.

- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement projects.

- Coordinate improvement activities and promote process ownership among all departments and employees.

- Occasionally oversee multiple aspects of the work.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical.

- At least two to four years of relevant experience.

- Strong problem-solving and applied statistics skills.

- Lean manufacturing certification preferred.

- Proficiency in CAD, SPC, and Gantt Charts.

- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
