Accountant/Bookkeeper to be
responsible for full-cycle accounting. Candidate must be hands-on, detail-oriented, accountable, and self-reliant. Responsibilities include:
- Update and maintain all accounting records using Quick Books Pro software and make A/P entries into software system and pay invoices as directed by owners.
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger, chart of accounts, cash accounts, mineral acquisitions, fixed assets, depletion, and accounts payable.
- Reconcile all financial accounts as needed and maintain documentation to support account balances.
- Prepare monthly financial close with supporting documentation.
- Produce financial reports as required.
- Assist with development of internal controls, policies, procedures and policies over financial reporting and other operational functions as requested.
- Process payroll using third party payroll processor. Maintain all payroll records.
- Produce management reporting on key financial and operational metrics, cash flow.
- Assist management with supporting information and analytics to maximize the performance, productivity, profitability and results.
- Coordinate with management daily banking procedures, including daily cash deposits and cash reconciliations.
- Daily monitor all royalty payments recorded via check and ACH including preparation and verification of bank deposits, change orders, less cash amounts and cash variation reports.
- Daily monitor all daily bank balances with appropriate postings and notifications.
- Assist with tax preparation, annual audit and assist/respond to company external accountants.
- Various other miscellaneous duties including researching royalty payments & revenue.
Qualifications include:
- A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of computer software, particularly QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, is essential.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with payroll, financial statements, bank reconciliation, and general bookkeeping.
- Ability to clearly and concisely present information to owners and coworkers.
- Ability to define problems distinctly, collect data accurately, establish reliable facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
