Job Description
A junior-level A&D Engineer is needed to join the technical team of an established Oil & Gas company in Dallas, TX. This in-office position reports to the engineering partner and involves working on key initiatives, including: AFE management and evaluations, quarter-close engineering processes, contribution to year-end reserves management, and A&D property evaluations.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, proficient in SQL and Access databases, skilled in analyzing public data to generate type curves, and confident in presenting findings to a broader team.

Responsibilities include:
- Evaluate AFEs on existing assets (well proposals, workovers, etc.).
- Work closely with accounting and engineering teams on quarter-close and corporate reserves processes, including SOX control documentation.
- Collaborate with land, accounting, and finance teams to streamline engineering data and optimize corporate reporting and modeling.
- Conduct technical evaluations of oil & gas assets using ARIES, Spotfire, Excel, IHS, Enverus Prism, ComboCurve, SQL, and Access.
- Provide engineering support during diligence and acquisition processes (value allocations, database setup, etc.).
- Prepare and present organized engineering underwriting packages for Investment Committee review.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering.
- 2-5 years of reservoir engineering experience, preferably with exposure to reserves and/or property evaluations.
- Understanding of well-level LOS data (operating expenses, revenue deducts, etc.).
- Ability to generate type curves and identify representative well datasets and risk factors.
- Strong grasp of key risks, economic drivers, and variables impacting property evaluation values.
- Non-op evaluation exposure is beneficial.
- Highly motivated self-starter capable of building project databases from scratch.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to manage shifting priorities and timelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Proficiency in ARIES required. Experience with Enverus DI/Prism and IHS. Spotfire and ComboCurve experience is beneficial.
