Private oil and natural gas company in the
Dallas-Fort Worth area is looking for a
Finance Manager to join their growing team. The management team is comprised of a seasoned group of oil and gas executives with diverse industry experience and a proven ability to execute growth-oriented projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with all functional groups of the company
- Manage corporate financial model, including scenario analysis, by working closely with the reservoir engineering team
- Assist with preparation of presentations for all key stakeholders including Senior Management, Board of Directors, Equity Sponsors, Lenders, Internal hedging committee, Internal ad hoc presentations
- Update presentations and commodity price forward curves utilizing data from energy industry data sources
- Monitor commodity price environment and assist with executing and coordinating hedging activities across the full lifecycle of asset ownership, ranging from trade idea generation to monthly hedge settlement verification
- Prepare quarterly reporting workbooks for equity sponsors
- Assist with analysis and ad hoc requests from equity sponsors
- Prepare reports analyzing operating and financial performance versus budget (monthly, quarterly)
- Help manage relationships with investment banks and commercial banks
- Prepare and maintain weekly cash forecast to monitor company liquidity
- Perform pertinent financial analysis, including with respect to: Valuation (net asset value, trading comparables, precedent transactions, etc.), Returns analysis (IRR, ROI, Payback Period), Ad hoc analysis
- Provide support for the corporate evaluation of oil & gas assets
Qualifications include:
- The ideal candidate should be a motivated self-starter, a team player, act with integrity, and possess strong skills in financial analysis
- Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of investment banking or similar experience is highly recommended, further complemented by additional year(s) of work experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry
- Candidates must have strong financial and computer skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), knowledge of PowerBI is a plus
- Prior upstream oil & gas industry knowledge
- Understanding of accounting and applied financial theory, keen analytical capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills
