Job Description
A very stable Publicly Traded E&P Company located in Houston, TX is seeking an Oil & Gas Accounting Manager. This position will report to the Controller and work closely with other departments. Hybrid schedule offered as well as competitive compensation and benefits!Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of FS
- Check and process non-operated JIBs and revenue statements
- Create journal entries for hedge transactions and equity investments
- Analysis of AFE vs actuals and tracking and managing on a
monthly basis - Oversee annual audit and prepare PBCs, documentation, and inquiry responses for external audit and taxation
- Participate in joint venture audits and communicate with the audit coordinators of operating companies
- Periodic reviews of tax provisional calculations and accounting recording
- Periodic reviews of Schedule K-1 (Form 1065) for the partnership
- Annual tax filing support
- Communication with external tax consultants
Qualifications:
- 10-15+ years of O&G accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Active CPA license
- Public company or Big 4 experience strongly preferred
- Experience with OGsys and EnergyLink is a plus
- Must be a hands-on manager with strong attention to detail
