Job Description
A very stable Publicly Traded E&P Company located in Houston, TX is seeking an Oil & Gas Senior JIB Accountant. This position will report to the Accounting Manager and work closely with other departments. Hybrid schedule offered as well as competitive compensation and benefits!Duties & Responsibilities:
- Check and process non-operated joint interest billings consistent with GAAP, COPAS and Joint Operating agreements, using EnergyLink system
- Make inquiries to the operator for information necessary for the appropriate coding and accounting treatment
- Create journal entries for hedge transactions and equity investments
- Conduct analysis of AFE (budget) vs actuals and its tracking on a monthly basis
- Prepare documentation and answer inquiries for external audit and taxation
- Participate in joint venture audits and communicate with the audit coordinator in the operating company for audit exceptions and additional information
- Assist with Annual audit and PBCs
- Periodic reviews of tax provisional calculations and accounting recording
- Periodic reviews of Schedule K-1 (Form 1065) for the partnership
- Annual tax filing support (Federal Tax, Texas Franchise Tax etc.)
- Communication with external tax consultants and document preparation
- Minimum of 5+ years of O&G Accounting experience, including JIB Accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Public Company or Big 4 Experience
- CPA and EnergyLink experience strongly preferred
- OGSYS software experience is a plus
- Knowledge of US GAAP
